Quicksilver should be read by anyone who likes action and political
intrigue. Essentially, it involves the hostile takeover of the Pentagon
during the ceremony to invite Russia into NATO and the capture of a
secret American weapons system. Several of the main characters are inside
the Pentagon (trying to figure out what is going on), while others are
outside (contemplating how to regain control of the situation). The enemy
gains control of a space-based weapon from the Pentagon, and intend to
use it to shift the world's balance of power away from America. The
President and his staff have to decide between the people stuck or held
inside and National security, or try something daring to accomplish both.
This book is suspensful, credible, well-written, and is a great story
that is very entertaining. Anyone who enjoys Clancy novels will enjoy
this book. Also check out the Reeves-Stevens' other book in this genre,
"Icefire."
