This is Squeeze's second entry on this list, and you can bet it won't
be the last. You see, they are my favorite band. Frank, their
sadly overlooked album from 1989, will really grab you if you let it.
It's very upsetting that this album didn't receive the support and airplay
of 1987's Babylon And On, especially considering how much better it is.
It's got one of their most optimistic songs ever, "If It's Love." The
best Difford-sung song ever, "Slaughtered, Gutted & Heartbroken." And
probably the best song about a subject not often touched upon in pop
music, "She Doesn't Have To Shave."
Good luck finding this album. Frank, like so many other Squeeze
albums, is OOP. Someday, somebody will come to their senses and Squeeze
albums will once again be filling the racks. Until then, your best bet
is to harrass your favorite used music store.
