Review by Ken 2½ stars out of 4
This is the band that everyone was raving about a few months ago, especially
after K-Mart stores in America were refusing to sell their album due to its
unrated explicit content. But as expected; the negative publicity only
served to make the album more popular and sought-after by curious record
buyers. And the simple truth is this: The lyrical content here is shockingly
tame compared to the profanity count on recent albums by other hardcore acts
like Limp Bizkit and Korn. And the music really isn't that inspiring at all-
proving once again that unnecessary hype can definitely overshadow
substance. I did like a few tracks here- like 'Moon Baby' and 'Keep Away',
but on the whole the band's hard grunge sound is too derivative of bands
like Alice In Chains (whom the band confess to be strong influences on them)
and early Stone Temple Pilots. Seriously, if you're a dedicated rock fan
then there's nothing here that you haven't already been exposed to.
