The Rembrandts got off to a fast start in the music business via the
TV sitcom 'Friends' a few years ago. Since then they haven't made
too much noise, until now. "Lost Together" is a very a strong release.
I am not unlike others I am sure; I thought they were strictly pop
stars. What I found by paying close attention to this CD was that
they indeed have hook filled pop songs. What they also offer are beautiful
harmonies with insightful lyrics. Some of songs astounded me just
how much they rocked. One example is 'Big Plans', which has its heavier
moments and it shows that these two guys can play and sing with the best of them.
Paul Solem and Danny Wilde play all the guitar and bass parts and
their crisp and clear vocals are featured in every song. Additional
musicians are utilized, other than that it's all Rembrandts.
Pick this CD up you may be pleasantly surprised just how good it is.
Make sure you give it a few spins before you form your opinions though…I
had to. I missed quite a bit the first time around. It's easy to get
distracted by other things when you are listening to pop music; it's
not as intense as progressive rock, or jazz. Just remember it's a
minimum of two listens. I promise you will enjoy this CD.
