Review by Keith "MuzikMan" Hannaleck 4 stars out of 4
My Fine Friend Phil is a rock 'n' roll pop band on a mission
to please with their release "Peace." The lead singer Phil Mann reminded
me of Michael Stipe of REM with the way he inflected his words
and his smooth and intelligent use of lyrics. It is so nice to hear
good rock music with a singer you can understand. I cannot tell you
how many bands that I have heard, loved their music, but did not have
a clue what they were saying in a song. Consistency and originality
is another issue with a lot of music that is committed to disc today,
this is not the case with this group. And its no wonder that this
is such a finely crafted pop and rock album with such a wonderful
sound, Gary Katz of Steely Dan is behind the glass to turn
the knobs and fine tune this top-rate production.
This is the kind of music that will find a way to your stereo equipment
repeatedly, whether your at home or on the road. Do you like infectious
toe-tapping rock and pop music? This is your one-stop shop for that experience.
Phil Mann and friends have found "Peace" in rock 'n' roll, and they
do it all so it leaves a lasting smile in your heart and an imprint in your minds eye.
