Review by Keith "MuzikMan" Hannaleck 4 stars out of 4
If you don't get some kind of emotional "Rise" when you look at the
picture on this CD and listen to the music you may as well just hang
it up, you're not a living breathing sentient being. Sharon Middendorf
(vocals, guitars) and Ron Mancuso (bass, guitars, drums, keyboards)
are the main players in the group Motorbaby.
This is a sexy rock and roll, and it's just soaked in sensuality and
high energy. "You Can't Download Me" is the opening track, and it
sets the tone for the entire CD. That song is also included as a Quicktime
Video special mutli-media extra and it's a real head turner. Middendorf
sings in the song-"You can't download a revolution, ya can't download
a revelation, and ya can't download me." Ya gotta love it. What great
lyrics for our day and age, they serve as a real eye opener that makes
you think about the inhuman technical society we live in today. Middendorf
could make it as a model easily; she has everything it takes to do
so. What a blessed woman, she is beautiful with a great voice, and
a very talented musician.
The production of this recording really got my attention; it's clear,
crisp, and powerful. My other favorite is the title track "Motorbaby,"
it just chugs right along with a driving rhythm and pounding beat
with stinging guitar lines that pull and tug at your heartstrings.
This is what rock 'n' roll is all about; it's all unadulterated fun,
complete with all the trimmings. Its time you let loose and pick up
this CD and give it spin, it will set the mood for your entire day.
Wanna make your motor run baby? Give this disc a spin.
