Blast Radius is a Colony Wars wanna-be with one of the weirdest control quirks ever.
To hit your target, you have to press the Square button and the X button at the same
time! WHY?
The Square is for targeting, and X is to shoot, but why can't one button do both jobs?
The Square button obviously doesn't do much if it works only in conjunction with X. If
you press Square then X, that won't do jack. This has got to be the most cracked up
thing we've ever seen. It's easy to conform to the oddity, but why should you have to?
This game is just tedious. The rare save points are a huge pain in the rump... Can you
say Turok 2?
Despite the availability of 9 different ships, 40 missions, 13 weapons, deathmatch
modes, a link cable-supported co-op mode, and nice FMV sequences, the onslaught of
similar games just doesn't leave enough room for this game in the market. Space
fighters are getting really old. I'm sick of endless chases and endless shooting. It's time
for a new genre.
