2 Stars out of 4

Vin Scully and Dave Campbell return for another bout of baseball in MLB 2001. Unfortunately, the dated graphics are so repelling that few gamers will feel the need to upgrade.

The new franchise, spring training, and home run derby modes have all been done before in some form or another.

Base running controls should transfer more intuitively from the batting controls which precede them. For example, the X button should become the "stop runners" command for base running. I would wait to see what the PlayStation 2 has to offer.
