The minor programming problems that existed in the Game Boy Color version of Pac-Man have
been fixed for the release of Ms. Pac-Man. I am not a die-hard fan of old-school games, but this
cartridge entertained me a great deal.
Ms. Pac-Man includes a bonus game that is just as meaty as the marquee title. Super Pac-Man
adds the concept of gates and keys to the Pac-Man format. At first, the game seems odd, but if
you try collecting all the keys first (to open the gates), you will quickly find the game to be just
as well-designed as traditional mazes.
This portable version of Ms. Pac-Man offers something that no previous version contained. The
instruction manual will tell you how to play the game with the entire maze in view at all times.
No more scrolling! Plus, this feature is instantly available from the start of the game. Namco
thankfully doesn't force you to "earn" the feature.
Giving this game an "A" may seem foolish, but few games sustain interest levels as long as this
one. The Game Boy is the perfect format for a game like this; you will play Ms. Pac-Man more
on Game Boy than you did for any other system. Lastly, I just have to say: Ms. Pac-Man is also
the perfect game to play on the crapper, and yes, I speak from experience.
