Harder than NHL 2000, but more fun. More fighting controls! Rumble is very effective
and lets you know you're using the right button when trying to steal the puck. You can
direct the pass by pressing X plus a direction. You can't do this in NHL 2000, nor can
you hold the Square button to charge shot. Coach Scotty Bowman was involved in
development. Unlike NHL 2000, motion capture sessions were performed on ice for
more realistic animation. Features not available on NHL 2000 include the following: Go
top shelf and hit the goalie's water bottle. Cross over steps when skating backward.
Check players over boards and into benches. Goalie still working while on his back.
Fans throw hats on the ice for a hat trick. Personalized goalie masks for nerds.
