Titus, the little company that could, has pulled off an amazing stunt with Superman for
the N64. Somehow, the game has become a top-seller. Granted, the Nintendo 64 is in
a drought again, but this???
Superman looks like a good game, but its horrendously unmanageable control sends it
to the dumpster. This is a crying shame. The developers seem to have put more
thought into the game than most licensed products, with heavy emphasis on several
heroic powers, but you won't be able to experience too much of this because the control
makes the game far too difficult. Normally, challenge is a good thing, but not at the
hands of poor control.
The first level is nearly impossible, mostly because of the time limit, and it will only take
a few seconds to notice how outdated the graphics are. Titus has been focusing on
games for young children, but with this crowd you have to have especially nice graphics
- good enough to make someone want to buy the game. Superman does not fall into
that category.
