Here's another short first-person shooter for the PS2. The levels and game play are so basic that
even die-hard fans of the genre may fall asleep. The single player game gives you three assistant
squad members. You can command them to stay put, proceed with stealth, or attack. However,
the artificial intelligence of your teammates is rather low. They are stupid enough to run into
flying bullets.
This game gets irritating quickly. I got sick of peeking around corners and waiting for the right
time to attack. Thankfully, the game has a lock-on aiming system, so when you DO attack you
seldom fail. X-Squad is not a bad game, but don't expect it to be great just because it's on the
PS2. After all, X-Squad is a first generation title.
