Actually I enjoyed this film, the plot is relatively simple but coherent
and maintained my interest. The cast is medium to good and although
deliberately slow the mood is well set by the lighting, wardrobe and
sets. But when you come down to it it IS basically Rosemary's Baby and
although visually very nicely shot and staged the end result is probably
too spare and detatched for most viewers. I happen to enjoy movies of
that type but I know the effect can be off-putting. Another drawback is
the distracting similarity between Charlize Trezon's role in this movie
and her one in The Devil's Advocate (an altogether sillier but highly
enjoyable supernatural thriller) On the other hand it's refreshing to
watch a movie were every element of the plot isn't verbalized by endless
exposition. So if you like the lead actors and enjoy the more clinical
Horror or Science Fiction fare then check this out. If you like it then
definitely watch the far superior and more original Rosemary's Baby.
