This movie missed its true calling- as a music video. I mean, it was hyped up to be the tale of a woman (PATRICIA ARQUETTE) who has terrifying apocalyptic visions and suffers wounds just like Christ did on the cross; but all that intricate plotting is buried thanks to the ultra-slick MTV-style storytelling and direction. Apparently, the producers were trying too hard to mix popular religious imagery with the movie's hip, techno-ambient soundtrack. That sort of glossy stuff worked with THE CROW. Here, its just an incomprehensible mess. Sure, Patricia Arquette remains extremely cute to look at. But if you really needed an adorable character to be infatuated with, go and watch POKEMON instead.
